Jets WR Eric Decker underwent surgery on his hip today.
The hip surgery was deemed necessary during an evaluation that occurred when Decker was placed on injured reserve for a torn rotator cuff on October 12. The anticipated recovery time for the surgery is six months. Once Decker is off crutches, he will subsequently undergo a procedure on his shoulder. The estimated recovery for his shoulder surgery is eight months.
Decker played in the team's first three games, recording nine catches for 194 yards and two touchdowns before injuring his shoulder at Buffalo on September 15. The Jets originally signed Decker to a free agent deal in the spring of 2014. He has played 33 games for the Green & White, amassing 163 receptions for 2,183 yards and 19 touchdowns while averaging 13.4 yards a catch. Decker, in his seventh season from Minnesota, has 385 career receptions for 5,253 yards and 52 TDs.
