Jets' Offseason Program Starts April 16

Veterans Return for Two Months of Strength, Conditioning & OTAs Crowned by June Minicamp

Head coach Todd Bowles will welcome veteran Jets new and old to the Atlantic Health Jets Training Center in Florham Park, NJ, in less than two weeks to open this year's offseason conditioning program.

The players first report on Monday, April 16, for the first day of the voluntary program's Phase One, the two-week period during which activities are limited to strength and conditioning and physical rehabilitation only.

Phase Two, the next three weeks of the program that begin April 30, consists of on-field workouts that may include individual player instruction and drills as well as team practice conducted on a "separates" basis. No live contact or team offense vs. team defense drills are permitted during this period.

In Phase Three, the final four weeks of the program that begin May 22, teams may conduct 10 days of organized team practice activity — OTAs for short. Live contact is still not allowed, but 7-on-7, 9-on-7 and 11-on-11 drills are permitted.

In the middle of the schedule, from May 4-6, is the rookie minicamp for the Green & White's selections from the previous week's NFL Draft plus undrafted free agent signees and unsigned camp invitees.

The offseason schedule wraps up with the full-squad mandatory minicamp from June 12-14. Then the players will depart for the next month and a half before returning to the AHJTC in late July for the start of Bowles' fourth training camp as head coach. And the 2018 preseason and regular season won't be far behind.

The Jets' workout program sessions are closed to the public, but the stories and the buildup will begin soon. Here is the Green & White offseason schedule:

Week 3 — OTAs 7-10, Monday-Thursday, June 4-7
Mandatory Minicamp — Tuesday-Thursday, June 12-14
