The Jets have signed wide receiver Chad Hansen, their fourth-round draft choice out of California.

"I ended up with the best organization for myself and that's the biggest thing for me," Hansen said at the rookie minicamp. "I know I ended up in a great place and I'm happy about that."

As far as immediately helping out the Jets receiving corps as a rookie, he said, "That's my goal. ... I've just got to keep working and learn the offense, just work as hard as I can all the time and let the chips fall where they may."

Hansen (6'2", 202), as a redshirt junior last season, ranked third in the FBS with 9.2 catches/game and fourth with 124.9 receiving yards/game. He totaled 92 catches for 1,249 yards and 11 touchdowns despite missing two games with an ankle injury.

In his two Cal seasons after transferring from Idaho State and sitting out 2014, he racked up 111 catches for 1,498 yards (13.5 yards/catch) and 12 TDs.

Hansen, taken with the 141st selection of last month's draft, is the sixth Cal player chosen by the Jets all-time, the first since QB Troy Taylor arrived in the 1990 draft, and the second Cal WR after Wesley Walker was drafted in the second round (33rd overall in the 1977) and went on to a Ring of Honor career in green and white.
