The Jets announced today that they have placed WR Eric Decker on injured reserve.
Decker, who was inactive the past two games, suffered a partially torn rotator cuff early this season. He played in the team's first three games, hauling in nine passes for 194 yards with 2 TDs. Decker extended his consecutive home game streak with a touchdown to eight games in a Week 1 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, hauling in a 15-yard scoring pass from QB Ryan Fitzpatrick. Decker had six receptions in a Week 2 win at Buffalo, totaling 126 yards with a TD.
In 15 games last season, the 6'3", 214-pound Decker totaled 80 receptions for 1,027 yards with 12 TDs. It was Decker's third pro season of 80 catches and 1,000 receiving yards. He also set the Jets' single-season red zone mark with 10 scoring grabs inside the 20.
The Jets originally signed Decker to a free agent deal in the spring of 2014. He has played 33 games for the Green & White, amassing 163 receptions for 2,183 yards while averaging 13.4 yards a catch in addition to 19 TDs. Decker, in his seventh season from Minnesota, has 385 career receptions for 5,253 yards and 52 TDs.
