The Jets, in addition to the active roster transactions involving Geno Smith and Taiwan Jones, have signed LB Reshard Cliett and C Kyle Friend to the practice squad and have removed WR Myles White from the practice squad.
Cliett was a sixth-round pick by Houston in the 2015 NFL Draft after amassing 139 tackles, 18 tackles for loss and nine sacks at the University of South Florida. After suffering an ACL tear and torn lateral meniscus during the Texans' training camp, he spent his rookie season on injured reserve. Cliett, who was waived by the Texans last month, joined the Denver practice squad on Sept. 13.
Friend was a three-time captain, four-year letter winner and top scholar/athlete at Temple. He was signed by the Jets as an undrafted free agent after this year's draft and played 22 offensive plays in two preseason games before he was waived Aug. 28.
White was signed to the practice squad Sept. 4, released Sept. 12, then signed to the P-squad again Sept. 29. He began in the NFL as an undrafted free agent with Green Bay in 2013 and has played in 19 games with 16 receptions combined for the Packers in '13 and the Giants in '15.
