The Jets acquired four players on waivers today. Here are capsule bios on the foursome:
OL Colin Baxter (6'3", 310, Arizona, Rolling Hills, CA) — Entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the San Diego Chargers on July 27. Baxter started 49 of 50 games he played at Arizona, contributing at both center and left guard. He was named All-Pac-10 second team in 2009 and 2010.
WR Mardy Gilyard (5'11", 194, Cincinnati, Daytona Beach, FL) — Gilyard was a fourth-round draft choice (99th overall) of St. Louis in 2010 and caught six passes for 63 yards as a Rams rookie. He hauled in 168 receptions for 2,467 yards during his final two seasons at Cincinnati after converting from cornerback.
QB Kevin O'Connell (6'5", 225, San Diego State, Carlsbad, CA) — O'Connell spent training camp with Miami after being waived by the Jets on July 29, throwing one incomplete pass this preseason. He was initially acquired by the Jets in a trade with Detroit on Sept. 6, 2009. He was selected by New England in the third round (94th overall) of the 2008 NFL Draft.
S Andrew Sendejo (6'1", 225, Rice, San Antonio, TX) — Sendejo played in two games for Dallas after being signed as a free agent on Nov. 29, 2010. Prior to joining the Cowboys, he played for the Sacramento Mountain Lions of the UFL in 2010 and posted 48 tackles and two interceptions. He totaled 318 tackles and nine interceptions during his college career at Rice.
