Dowtin to Active Roster, Fletcher to P-Squad

The New York Jets have waived fullback John Conner, signed linebacker Marcus Dowtin to the active roster and signed cornerback Donnie Fletcher to the practice squad. The announcements were made by general manager Mike Tannenbaum.

Conner (5'11", 245) entered the NFL as a fifth-round selection by the Jets in the 2010 NFL Draft. In three seasons with the Jets, he has played in 35 games with 10 starts and has 21 carries for 88 yards and two touchdowns.

Dowtin (6'2", 226) originally signed with the Jets as an undrafted free agent April 30. He spent the preseason with the Jets before being waived Aug. 31 and signed to the practice squad the next day. In his senior season at North Alabama, Dowtin led the team with 115 tackles, including nine for loss, and had four sacks and four forced fumbles. Fletcher (6'1", 195) signed with the Jets as an undrafted free agent May 4. He was waived following training camp Aug. 31 and joined the Jets practice squad the next day. He was signed to the Jets' active roster from the practice squad Sept. 22 for their game at Miami, was waived two days later, was re-signed to the practice squad on Sept. 25, and was released Oct. 2.
