Win and they're in – that's what the New York Jets are thinking after a huge victory over the New England Patriots. With a 10-5 record, there's just one thing standing between them and their first playoff appearance since 2010.
A Week 17 showdown on the road against former head coach Rex Ryan and the Buffalo Bills.
Despite a tough matchup last week, New York had a few standout performers on FanDuel. Here are a few to consider before fantasy football contests lock on Sunday afternoon.
Jets Control Playoff Destiny with Victory
QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (FanDuel Price: $7,800)
Since the Jets signal-caller trimmed his beard, he's thrown 13 touchdowns and just one interception in five games, all of which have been wins. He's also scored double-digit FanDuel points in every game he's finished in 2015, and has done so at quite the discount.
Fitzpatrick is still priced to play, and should be extra motivated while facing his former team with a playoff berth on the line. He's thrown the ball at least 35 times in each of the last six games, and numberFire projects him as the third-best QB this week.
WR Brandon Marshall (FanDuel Price: $8,600)
Acquiring Marshall from the Chicago Bears has to be one of the best deals Jets have made in recent memory. The wide-out recorded his ninth 100-yard game of the year (fourth in his last five) and added two more touchdowns to give himself a total of 13, which is a career-high.
While Marshall's price has reached elite status, he consistently provides elite production to justify it. He's been targeted less than 10 times in a game on just five occasions, and has never seen less than seven looks in a week.
WR Eric Decker (FanDuel Price: $7,400)
Decker's 3-47-1 line wasn't his prettiest of the year, but he hauled in the most important Jets touchdown this season to seal the overtime victory against New England. He also extended his NFL-best streak of either gaining 80 yards or catching a touchdown to 14 straight games, dating back to last year.
He's a viable option to stack with Fitzpatrick because he gets nearly as much attention from the signal-caller as Marshall does, but costs over $1,000 less on FanDuel. There aren't many other options in the passing game, so both pass-catchers will get their fair share of opportunities.
Bills Trying to Play the Spoiler Role
QB Tyrod Taylor (FanDuel Price: $7,400)
Taylor had his worst game in just over a month on Sunday, but still scored double-digit FDPs by rushing for 67 yards in addition to racking up 179 yards through the air.
The Bills running game isn't ideal right now with LeSean McCoy injured, so expect the ball to be in Taylor's hands more often – whether he's throwing it or running with it. New York is rather stingy against fantasy QBs in relation to the rest of the league, and despite losing their first meeting, they held him to just 170 total yards, one TD and 11.52 FDPs.
WR Sammy Watkins (FanDuel Price: $7,800)
Watkins asked to get the ball more often earlier this season, and now we can see why. After just one 100-yard performance in his first six games, he's collected three in his last six, and hasn't had less than 80 yards receiving since Week 12.
For the Jets to win this game and enter the playoffs, they must first contain Taylor. If they can do that, then Watkins will have limited opportunities to make an impact.
