The New York Jets fell to 4-3 after a tough road loss to the Oakland Raiders last Sunday. The best way for head coach Todd Bowles and company to get back on track is heading home, which is where Gang Green will be for the next two games against the Jacksonville Jaguars and Buffalo Bills.
If you're playing one-week fantasy football on FanDuel in Week 9, building a winning lineup is just a few clicks away. Which New York players should be in your lineup this weekend?
Getting the Jets back on course
RB Chris Ivory (FanDuel Price: $7,500)
The Raiders stifled Ivory for 5.6 FanDuel points last Sunday, which was his worst fantasy output of the season. However, the Jaguars are a great team to face when bouncing back from a tough performance.
According to FFToday, they've allowed the eighth-most fantasy points to RBs, and numberFire projects Ivory as the third-best RB this weekend (13.81 FDPs).
With injuries to both potential starting QBs, the Jets will lean on Ivory, and lean on him a lot. At a price of $7,500, he holds tremendous value this week.
K Nick Folk (FanDuel Price: $4,600)
It's not often that a kicker lands on our list, but no team is allowing more points per game to opposing kickers than Jacksonville. Folk hasn't scored less than seven FDPs in any week, including double-digit performances in three of his last four games.
If New York leans more heavily on the run, it may give Folk more opportunities to boot the ball through the uprights, which is what you're looking for out of a kicker costing only $4,600.
New York Jets defense (FanDuel Price: $4,700)
The Jacksonville offense has shown signs of improvement this year, but they're still allowing defenses to score the second-most fantasy points per game against them. They don't allow many sacks, but are among the league leaders in interceptions thrown and defensive touchdowns allowed.
Like Folk, this $4,700 price tag for the Jets defense provides fantastic value. Jacksonville still has a second-year signal-caller at the helm (Blake Bortles), along with a rookie running back (T.J. Yeldon) and two second-year wide receivers (Allen Hurns and Allen Robinson).
With a secondary led by Darrelle Revis and Antonio Cromartie, this should be a good week for the defense.
Forcing the Jaguars into mistakes
QB Blake Bortles (FanDuel Price: $7,600)
There are two main parts of Jacksonville's offense the Jets must stop, and it's Bortles and Yeldon. New York has a stingy run defense, meaning it may force the Jaguars to throw a lot.
Outside of his 29 attempts against the Bills last Sunday, Bortles has thrown at least 30 times for six straight weeks (40-plus attempts three times). If he's above that number this week, it'll give the defense more opportunities to make plays and score you points.
RB T.J. Yeldon (FanDuel Price: $6,400)
After a slow start, Yeldon has picked it up over the last three weeks. He's rushed for over 100 yards twice, has scored double-digit FDPs in every game and has increased his point total each week.
In addition to stopping him on the ground, they'll have to keep an eye on him in the passing game, as he's gotten more involved in that respect.
