Transcript of interviews with selected Jets players during the locker room media period after Friday's afternoon practice:
DB DARRELLE REVIS
On what he has learned since the last Buffalo game …
A lot of things. I learned how to play the slot better and a couple more techniques that the coaches have taught me. I have gotten more comfortable with what they were doing. It is good to play a team over again because you have a feel for what they are going to do and what is going on.
On his performance against Cincinnati …
I don't think I struggled. It was two pass interference calls. There shouldn't have been one and the other one that was my fault. I just didn't turn and look for the ball.
On the importance of having a short memory as a CB …
You have to have a short memory. You can get beat for a touchdown and you have to forget it for the next play. That happens in any position and it happens in all sports. The guys we are playing against make a lot of money as well. They went to Division I colleges and worked hard. You have to be consistent in your play and outwork those guys.
On whether last week's game was a good learning experience for him …
It always is. You go back and watch film and it shows you what you have done, how close you were and what you could have done. If I just turned my head around, it could have changed the play dramatically. It is a learning experience. You take the coaching and go on with your life.
On whether there is an advantage to having already faced Buffalo …
It helps a lot. It gives you an identity of those guys having played them on the field. You know what type of routes they've run, how fast they are, how quick they are and what they can do. It's a great opportunity not just for me but for the whole team. We had a good look at them and we have a game plan for them. It's going to be fun. We have to go out there, compete and try to get a win. We are not focused on the rematch or a rivalry game. We are focused on the Jets and trying to get a win.
S KERRY RHODES
On continuing to play hard despite the 1-6 record …
When Eric [Mangini] brought up the "Everybody is going to be evaluated" speech — if you want to be a player, believe in yourself, know that you want to make plays and not be in a situation where he can look at you and say that you are not doing your job — you're going to step up and keep going. The players on this team know that we want to win and we still have the drive to win. We're not going to lie down and roll over. It's bad right now but it can be disastrous. We can be 1-15. We definitely don't want that.
On Darrelle Revis …
Early on, he really didn't get challenged much, so he really didn't know what was going to happen. Teams have started to come after him a little bit and it's going to be that way. He's a young guy. The thing I've seen in him is that for the most part he's able to put it past him. He doesn't dwell on plays too much and he has confidence to come back and keep going.
On Abram Elam …
The thing I've seen out of him the most is his aggressiveness. He doesn't sit back and wait. If he sees something, he's going to go hit it. If he sees anything moving, he's hitting it. That's the type of guy he is. He's going to play hard. That's probably the biggest thing I've seen out of him.
