Jets Edge Haason Reddick No. 87 on NFL's Top 100 List

'Three-Way Rusher' Registered 27 Sacks in 2022-23

Reddick-Top100

Haason Reddick, the former Eagles star defender acquired by the Jets in March, was named No. 87 in the NFL's Top 100 Players of 2024. Reddick joins QB Aaron Rodgers (No. 92) on the list that is voted by the players and is underway on NFL+.

In 2023, Reddick started 17 regular-season games in Philly while producing 11 sacks, 23 QB hits and 13 tackles for loss. He earned Pro Bowl honors for a second consecutive year before Jets GM Joe Douglas obtained him in exchange for a conditional 2026 third-round pick.

"He's got a great feel for the game," Jets HC Robert Saleh said of Reddick after the trade. "He's not a one-way rusher. He's a three-way rusher in that he can beat you around the edge, he can beat you with a counter move inside, and he can run right through your face. He's very good with his hands, he's very instinctive, he understands where the quarterback is, and obviously he's got tremendous athleticism."'

Following the 2022 season, Reddick was voted No. 48 on the NFL's Top 100 Players of 2023 list. Finishing fourth in the Associated Press Defensive Player of the Year voting, Reddick racked up career highs of 16 sacks and 26 QB hits while adding an NFL-best 5 FF.

"You can line him up at left defensive end and he can beat big run blockers and play the edge and is excellent on twist stunts," NFL Network's Brian Baldinger said of Reddick. "In Philly he was nicknamed Freddy Krueger because when he turns the corner a claw is coming out for the quarterback."

Reddick's 51 sacks from 2020-23 are the fourth-most in the NFL behind Cincinnati's Trey Hendrickson (53), Cleveland's Myles Garrett (58) and Pittsburgh's T.J. Watt (62). He is one of seven NFL defenders in the past 10 seasons with a streak of at least four seasons of 10-plus sacks, and Reddick and Garrett are the only players with current streaks (Garrett has six consecutive seasons). Reddick also has a league-leading 15 forced fumbles from 2020-23, and 13 of those FFs were strip sacks, also the league leader.

"His level of production is almost unheard of, as far as sack production, and his ability to win on the edge," defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich said of Reddick. "He'll add another critical component to our line."
