We may or may not have afternoon practice notes for you from Jets training camp at SUNY Cortland.
But we have a few weather notes.
Or as my good friend from The New York Times, Greg Bishop, might suggest, welcome to Randy's (Doppler) Radar.
Heavy rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, began to fall around 4:30 p.m. today, forcing the Jets to cancel their full-squad practice about a half-hour into the session. There is a band of storms moving over the Cortland/Syracuse/Ithaca area, and a tornado warning had been issued for southern Cortland County, south of SUNY Cortland.
Originally, the Jets suspended practice on the grass field west of Cortland Stadium with the idea of resuming it when weather permitted on the stadium turf. But at 4:58 the cancellation announcement was issued.
Tuesday's practice schedule at the moment is for a **full-squad practice to begin at 8:20 a.m. and a special teams practice set for 4:15 p.m**.
The Jets Radio Lineup
Eric Allen and I have been working hard to provide as many Jets Radio shows as we can for all you Green & White fans of an audio nature here on newyorkjets.com. And this week's dance card has filled up nicely. Here's the batting order heading into Friday night's preseason lidlifter against the St. Louis Rams:
Sunday and Today —WR Chansi Stuckey
Tonight and Tuesday — Defensive coordinator Mike Pettine
Wednesday — LB Bryan Thomas
Thursday — RB Danny Woodhead
Saturday — This one's tentative, but EA is working to set up audio and video of ESPN's Chris Mortensen inside and outside of his training camp tourbus while it's parked at Hofstra University for Wednesday's Family Night Practice at James Shuart Stadium.
We've also got some big plans for the following week, which will be the last the Jets will spend at SUNY Cortland. But we'll keep you guessing on the identity of those guests.
Keep up with our guests all this summer and throughout the season on Jets Radio. If you don't see the 'netcast you want on our home page, click on the Multimedia Home link, then under Latest Episodes, click on Audio Channel to find the Jets Radio show you're looking for.
