The Jets have listed T Breno Giacomini (ankle), RB Bilal Powell (ankle) and TE Kellen Davis (foot) as questionable for Sunday's regular-season finale at Buffalo. The 12 other players on the injury report are all probable for the Bills, including RB Chris Ivory (knee), DE Muhammad Wilkerson (toe) and LB Calvin Pace (abdomen), all of whom were limited at today's practice at the Atlantic Health Jets Training Center.
Head coach Todd Bowles said of the three questionable players today, "I'm going to have to see them work out Sunday morning."
The Green & White running game is especially under the microscope with the injuries heading into this game, a win in which would propel the Jets into the playoffs. With Ivory, who is 11 yards shy of his first 1,000-yard rushing season, being listed as probable for the game, that should be a relief for Jets fans. But Powell has averaged 80.5 yards of offense and scored three touchdowns the past six games and his loss would be a blow to the offense.
"Bilal's an important part of what we do," Bowles said, "but injuries at this point in the season are going to happen. We just have to keep going with the next-man-up attitude and they're going to have to step in and play."
Stevan Ridley, who had been seeing snaps behind Ivory and Powell the last half-dozen games, is coming off his most productive game as a Jet with 36 yards on seven carries against his former team, the Patriots.
As for Giacomini, who said Thursday he had "no concerns" about being ready to play, Bowles again said today he wasn't going to reveal the contingency plans if the Jets need to fill in for Giacomini. "We're still holding out hope," the coach said.
Regarding the Jets' overall health, Bowles said he's happy at this point in the season: "Our injuries aren't as much as compared to what they normally are this time of year for a lot of teams, so we're pleased about that."
The Bills' injury report also appeared to be better than it was at the start of the practice week. Both RB LeSean McCoy (knee) and LB Nigel Bradham (ankle) have been declared out for the game by head coach Rex Ryan, but six other players, five of whom were limited today, are listed as probable, including QB Tyrod Taylor (right shoulder), DE Mario Williams (hand), DT Marcell Dareus (neck) and S Bacarri Rambo (knee/shoulder).
