The Jets have activated running back Elijah McGuire from Injured Reserve and have waived running back De'Angelo Henderson.
McGuire, the 5'10", 214-pounder selected in the sixth round of the 2017 draft out of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, injured his foot on the first day of this summer's training camp. He played in all 16 games (two starts) last year with 315 yards and a touchdown on 88 rushes (3.6 yards/attempt) and 177 yards and a TD on 17 receptions (10.4 yards/catch).
He scored his rushing TD on a 68-yard run in Game 4 against the Jaguars and his receiving score off of a 2-yard pass from Bryce Petty in Game 14 at New Orleans.
McGuire also had four kickoff returns for 83 yards and one 10-yard punt return in his rookie season with the Green & White.
Henderson (5'7", 208), was signed to the Jets' practice squad on Sept. 3 and then signed to the active roster last Saturday for use if needed behind Isaiah Crowell and rookie Trenton Cannon in the offensive backfield at Chicago. Henderson made his Jets debut when he took the field for the last snap of the game but the play was blown dead due to a false start and the clock ran out after that non-play.
