The Jets are on track to be at full strength at cornerback for the first time since Week 4. Michael Carter II (back) has not played the last three games while D.J. Reed (groin) missed last week's game. They were full participants in practice on Thursday and Friday.

"It's big," interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich said. "I have tremendous respect for the guys that we have that back up in the secondary because I really believe we have some of the best depth in the league. But those guys -- D.J., MC and Sauce [Gardner], when they're together out there, they've got the advantage of not only ultra-talented, but they've got time on task together. They have cohesion and they understand each other's voices. There's times that they communicate without communicating. There's nothing that can substitute that connection that they have. Excited to get them back."

Up front, Ulbrich confirmed pass rusher Haason Reddick, who reported to team to end his holdout Monday, will make his Jets debut Sunday.

"Had a good week of work with us," he said. "He's just such an experienced guy. He's been in so many systems, to pick up ours was not super-difficult for him. He did a good job of that. Really put the extra time in to learn it and physically looked good out there. Excited about what he'll contribute to our rush group."

Elsewhere on the injury front, RG Alijah Vera-Tucker (ankle), DT Leki Fotu (knee) and S Ashtyn Davis (concussion) will not play Sunday against the Patriots. With Vera-Tucker out of the lineup and backup Xavier Newman (neck) on injured reserve, Jake Hanson, who took 20 snaps last Sunday, could be in line to start at right guard.

S Tony Adams, who sustained a hamstring injury in the second quarter against the Steelers, will be a gametime decision as will be WR Allen Lazard (chest).

Drake Maye at the Controls
Since the last time the Jets and Patriots matched up in Week 3, a 24-3 trashing by the Green & White, New England made a change at quarterback, deciding to make rookie QB Drake Maye, the No. 3 overall pick in April's NFL Draft, their full-time starter beginning in Week 6.

Maye got his first game action in Week 3 when he completed 4-of-8 passes for 22 yards and was sacked twice. In Maye's two starts since, he has completed 66% of his passes for 519 yards, 5 touchdowns and 2 interceptions.

Jets undrafted rookie DT Leonard Taylor II played against Maye in 2022 and 2023, while Taylor was at Miami and Maye at North Carolina. Maye's Tar Heels got the better of Taylor's Hurricanes in both matchups.

"He is a really good quarterback and a really mobile quarterback," Taylor said. "He has got good speed and can throw on the run. He has become a much better thrower of the ball since he got in the league. He is making harder throws and really using his feet. He is showing a lot of upside and we are going to try and put a stop to all that."

Working From the Slot
In the Jets' Week 7 loss to the Steelers, 37-15, third-year wideout Garrett Wilson lined in the slot on a season-high 22 snaps and out wide a season-low 35 snaps, according to Pro Football Focus. Wilson was targeted 9 times and caught 5 passes for 61 yards.

After the addition of All-Pro WR Davante Adams, Wilson expects to see more time in slot and is excited about his potential in the role.

"I don't mind being inside outside and I don't mind being outside," Wilson said. "The truth of it is, you tend to get less coverage players lined up against you when you're in the slot. You get to see the defense from a little bit of a different view as opposed to being outside and being focused on your corner. There are more ways to break down the coverage and get open. I love it."
