The Jets have signed linebacker Anthony Wint to the active roster from the practice squad and claimed linebacker Emmanuel Lamur. The Green & White also placed right tackle Brandon Shell and outside linebacker Jeremiah Attaochu on injured reserve.
Wint signed with the team following rookie minicamp and recorded 12 tackles in the preseason before he signed to the practice squad on Sept. 2. The Florida International product totaled 336 tackles, 20.5 for loss, six pass defenses and three forced fumbles in 45 games in college. The 6'0", 224-pounder ranks sixth in school history with 108 tackles in a single season (2016).
Lamur played in nine games (four starts) for the Raiders this season before he was waived Tuesday. The Kansas State product originally signed with the Bengals in 2012 as an undrafted free agent and spent four years in Cincinnati before playing with the Vikings in 2016-17. The 6'4", 245-pounder has totaled 193 tackles, 0.5 sacks, two interceptions, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries in his career.
Shell exited Saturday's Week 15 matchup with a knee injury in the third quarter. The former fifth-round pick hadn't missed a snap all season until that point and has started 29 games for the Jets in his three-year career. Head coach Todd Bowles said earlier Wednesday that Shell's injury is "pretty bad" and will require surgery.
The Green & White signed Attaochu, who played in 11 games for the team, on Sept. 3. He recorded two sacks, one forced fumble and nine tackles in that span. For his career, the fifth-year veteran has totaled 92 tackles, 12 sacks and three forced fumbles.
