The Jets signed OLB Frankie Luvu to the active roster and waived LB Lawrence Thimas.
Luvu, a Washington State product, was promoted from the practice squad. He registered six tackles, three for loss, one sack and two quarterback hits in four games of preseason action. Born in American Samoa, Luvu played in 46 games (22 starts) for the Cougars and recorded 110 tackles, 19 for loss, eight sacks, two interceptions and two forced fumbles.
After playing collegiately at Michigan State, Thomas signed with the Green & White as an undrafted free agent in 2016. The 6'3", 286-pounder played in 17 games in 2016-17, primarily being used as a blocker.
