Jets WR Mike Williams Will Begin Training Camp on the PUP List

2 Players Placed on PUP: Rookie QB Jordan Travis to Start on NFI

When the Jets training camp practices commence on Wednesday, the team will have two players on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list – WR Mike Williams and FB Nick Bawden– while rookie QB Jordan Travis will start on the Non-Football Injury or Illness list (NFI).

Williams, who signed with the Jets in March, is continuing his rehabilitation program after the former Chargers wideout sustained a torn ACL in Week 3 last season. The 6-4, 218-pound target, who averaged 15.6 yards on his 309 receptions with the ''Bolts from 2017-23, is aiming to be a full-go when the Jets open the regular season Sept. 9 at San Francisco.

Williams and Bawden, (6-2, 245) who has 35 games of NFL experience, will count toward the 90-man roster and can be moved off the PUP list at any point during training camp.

A fifth-round pick (No. 171 overall) out of Florida State, Travis reportedly fractured and dislocated his left ankle last November in a game against North Alabama. Up to that point, Travis (6-1, 200) had completed 63.9% of his passes with 20 TDs and 2 INTs while leading the 'Noles to an 11-0 mark.

The NFI designation for Travis means he is unable to practice due to conditions unrelated to football or an injury occurred away from the team's facility. If Travis remains on the NFI list at final cutdowns, he can be placed on the reserve non-football injury or reserve non-football illness list and not count towards the 53-man roster limit. Remaining on the NFI list would mean a player would miss a minimum of four games.
