The Jets reduced their roster to 75 players today as they waived/injured S Dion Bailey, DL Jake Ceresna and RB Romar Morris.
Bailey, claimed off waivers from the Seattle Seahawks last September, appeared in five games with the Jets last season and finished with 22 tackles. The 6'0", 211-pounder made his first career start at strong safety in Week 9 vs. Jacksonville, matching a career high with six tackles and adding half of a sack.
A New Fairfield, CT, native, the 6'5", 285-pound Ceresna played collegiately at Cortland while racking up 14.5 sacks. He signed with the Jets in August after being invited to the Kansas City Chiefs minicamp.
Morris, a North Carolina product who was one of 22 tryout players at the Jets rookie minicamp, signed with the club in May. In 50 games with the Tar Heels, Morris averaged 4.8 yards a carry and added 54 receptions.
The Jets will travel to Philadelphia Wednesday and conclude their preseason Thursday night vs. the Eagles. All NFL clubs must trim their rosters to a 53-man maximum on Saturday by 4 p.m. Eastern.
