The Jets made a pair of transactions along their defensive line, signing defensive lineman Shaneil Jenkins and releasing Courtney Upshaw.
Jenkins spent time last season with the Packers after stints with the Broncos, Cowboys and Seahawks in 2016. A Shepherd University product, Jenkins played in 47 collegiate games (28 starts) and totaled 100 tackles, 41.5 for loss and 27 sacks. The 6'4", 275-pounder was named Mountain East Conference Defensive Player of the Year in 2015 after recording 41 tackles, 23 stops for loss and 13.5 sacks in all 14 games.
Upshaw, a seventh-year pro, signed with the Green & White after a tryout at the team's mandatory minicamp. The former second-round pick of the Ravens in the 2012 NFL Draft has appeared in 90 regular-season games and has collected 215 tackles and seven sacks.
