The Jets have signed K Anders Carlson to the active roster and waive DL Bruce Hector.
Carlson (6-5, 219), who was elevated from the practice squad to the active roster for Sunday's game against the Colts, made all three extra points and both field goals including a career-long 58-yard boot.
An Auburn product who was a sixth-round pick (No. 207) of the Packers in 2023, Carlson signed with the Jets' practice squad on Nov. 7. As a rookie, he made 81% of his field goal attempts and 87% of his extra points. After his release from the Packers on Aug. 27, Carlson signed with the 49ers' practice squad on Oct. 15 and was added to the active roster for two games before being released on Nov. 5. In the two starts, he connected on all 5 of his field goal attempts, including a 55-yarder against the Chiefs, and 3 of 4 extra points. He kicked for five seasons at Auburn and connected on 72% of his field goal attempts and 98% of his extra points.
Hector (6-2, 296) signed with the Jets practice squad on Aug. 28 and joined the active roster Nov. 8. He has 3 tackles in 3 games this season. Hector, an undrafted free agent out of South Florida in 2018, first signed with the Eagles in 2018 and has had stints with the Cardinals (2019), Panthers (2020) and Titans (2021) before he played in the XFL. Hector has played in 19 career games (1 start) and has 14 tackles, a half sack and 2 QB hits.
