Jets to Return to Cortland for '14 Training Camp

The New York Jets today announced plans to return to the SUNY Cortland campus to conduct their training camp this summer.

"I love the fact that we are going back to Cortland," said head coach Rex Ryan, who has held four of his five training camps at the university since becoming head coach in 2009. "Everyone knows how I feel about going away. I think it is a big part of building our team camaraderie. The community, the school and the people of Cortland have been outstanding and we are all excited to be going back this summer."

General manager John Idzik, who experienced Cortland as the Jets GM for the first time last year, also is happy to be making the trip back to Central New York.

"The school and the community have joined together to continually provide a terrific backdrop for our team to come together at a critical stage of our season," Idzik said. "I'm pleased that we are returning to Cortland for training camp again."

"We are extremely pleased and excited to once again welcome the New York Jets to the SUNY Cortland campus," said college president Erik Bitterbaum. "As it has in the past, this summer's training camp will bring millions of tourist dollars into the Cortland economy, showcase the college's professional-caliber facilities on an international stage, and provide SUNY Cortland students with the educational experience of a lifetime."

The 2014 Jets training camp will be presented by Atlantic Health, SAP/EMC, JetBlue, MetLife, SNY and Toyota.

Practice dates and times will be announced as soon as they are determined. Details for Long Island and New Jersey will also be announced at a later date.
