In his 46th career game, Jets defensive lineman Leonard Williams' first interception came against one of the most unlikeliest of foes. Then the Green & White's defensive backs got into the act in the second half, forcing a pair fumbles that were recovered by the visitors and kept the Jets in the game. The thievery came against one of the NFL's most prolific attacks, but the Saints won a hard-fought battle at the Superdome.

Sure-fire Hall of Famer Drew Brees got caught in a 'Big Cat' trap late in the second quarter, getting hit and delivering a ball that didn't elude a dropping Williams.

Unfortunately the versatile defensive lineman exited the game in the second half and was treated for a head injury. He was credited with five tackles, one pass defensed and the INT before leaving the playing field.

After DL Muhammad Wilkerson didn't make the trip to New Orleans, third-year pro Xavier Cooper saw an uptick in his reps. Along with being credited with four tackles, Cooper had a powerful rush on the game's first takeaway. He got leverage on G Larry Warford and came up the middle on Brees, forcing the NFL's most accurate passer into a miscue deep inside Saints' territory.

Down 17-7 at the time, the Jets made it a one-possession contest at half when Chandler Catanzaro connected from 29 yards out. Despite settling for the chip shot, the visitors went into intermission with momentum.

Entering Week 15 with 10 interceptions, the Williams theft was the team's first INT since cornerback Darryl Roberts picked off Buccaneers QB Ryan Fitzpatrick in Week 10.  Rookie S Jamal Adams, an LSU product, collected his first forced fumble in the third, jarring WR Brandon Coleman from the ball inside the red zone and Jordan Jenkins recovered at the 17.

The Jets just wouldn't go away as an aggressive Buster Skrine took advantage of Coleman early in the fourth, ripping the ball loose and recovering the change himself. Game all afternoon and playing without Wilkerson throughout and minus Wilkerson late, the defense held the New Orleans run game in check until the damn broke on Mark Ingram's 50-yard run and the takeaways were a bright spot.
