Jets Complete Interview With Jon-Eric Sullivan for GM Vacancy

Packers VP of Player Personnel Has Spent 21 Years With Green Bay

The Jets have completed an interview with Jon-Eric Sullivan for the team's general manager position.

Sullivan is currently in his third season as the vice president of player personnel for the Packers and in his 21st season with the organization overall. He previously served as the co-director of player personnel for four seasons (2018-21), as the director of college scouting for two seasons (2016-17) and a college scout for eight seasons covering the Central Plains (2008-11) and the Southeast (2012-15).

The last three years of Sullivan's tenure in Green Bay the Packers have gone 28-23 and reached the postseason twice, including the divisional round in 2024 after defeating the Cowboys in the wild-card round.

Sullivan, a native of Richmond, VA, attended the University of Southern California, where he played wide receiver, for two seasons (1995-97) before transferring to Gardner-Webb University. He played two seasons (1998-99) for the Bulldogs and was named all-conference as a senior after leading the team with 43 receptions Following his playing career, Sullivan served as a student-assistant receivers coach at Gardner-Webb for one season.

Jon-Eric's father, Jerry Sullivan, was a longtime NFL and college coach who retired in 2021 after more than 40 years of coaching. He did extended stints with the Chargers, the Cardinals, the 49ers and the Jaguars.

Jets Chairman Woody Johnson is leading the searches for a general manager and head coach. He hired The 33rd Team in a support role to help identify and vet candidates in addition to coordinate interviews.
