Hey, Jet fans, Krista from the Flight Crew here.
I cannot wait to share with you the amazing weekend the New York Jets Flight Crew Cheerleaders had in Baltimore, Md.. Two weekends ago we packed our bags and headed on a road trip down to Maryland. Not only did we get a chance to cheer on our New York Jets from the stands at an away game, but we also had an opportunity to bond with our fellow NFL Cheerleaders from the Baltimore Ravens.
When we first arrived in Baltimore, we couldn't wait to hit the town. We left our suitcases in the car and immediately went to check out the scene. If you are ever in the Baltimore area be sure to check out "The Harbor." It is a gorgeous area by the water with a lot of theme restaurants and trendy stores. We grabbed a bite to eat and then did one of my favorite things — SHOP!
Later that night, we returned to our hotel rooms to prepare for our evening out with the Ravens Cheerleaders. As we headed towards the lobby we spotted a smiling group of young women, and we knew they had to be the cheerleaders! We instantly formed a connection with each other. We couldn't wait to exchange our mutual cheerleading experiences over dinner.
The Baltimore Cheerleaders decided to take us to a part of town called "Little Italy." The unsuspecting staff and patrons of this little Italian restaurant were shocked to see sixty young women "dressed to the nines" stroll into their dining room. It was Cheerleader overload! With the sharing of funny stories and experiences, the night seemed to fly by. It is amazing how a common interest can make you bond so quickly with somebody you just met.
The next morning was the day that the New York Jets played the Baltimore Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium. Before the game began, the Ravens Cheerleaders invited us to their field rehearsal practice and into their locker room. I really enjoyed this experience because we were able to see first-hand that there are similarities but yet some differences between our two organizations.
Later we moved to the stands and took the role as spectators. It was interesting to see the game through the eyes of a fan as opposed to being a cheerleader on the sidelines. Being up close and personal with the fans during the game only maximized my appreciation of how the fans feel towards their team.
I have to say my overall experience of this weekend was incredible. Being in a new city, forming new friendships along with my Flight Crew sisters, will remain with me forever.
See you all at the next home game. 1,2 FLIGHT CREW! Flight Crew Baltimore Road Trip Photo Gallery
