I'm so excited for the New Year to begin. I just recently became a first-time homebuyer and the closing for my new house is the first week in January. It's the perfect way to start 2011. I have so much to look forward to this year in the offseason.
It's been crazy and hectic trying to do Christmas shopping and furniture shopping at the same time this year. Luckily with Black Friday and all the holiday deals, I have been saving a ton on appliances and other mandatory household needs.
If anyone has recently purchased a home or you're just looking to spice up your current home ... my top favorite stores that have given me ideas to work off of are Home Goods, Target, Bed Bath & Beyond, Raymour & Flanigan, and Ikea. These are stores that you can always find great deals and coupons for.
The best item I have purchased so far is my vanity from vanitygirl.com. It is a Hollywood-style vanity that I am putting in my dressing room and I love it!! It's a great holiday idea for any girl who likes to get dolled up. It's also a great station for a makeup artist or hairdresser.
I've learned so much this year while house-hunting. It can be a frustrating process. If you haven't found your dream home yet, don't get discouraged and don't settle. Take advantage of the great loans and low rates for first-time homeowners. Good luck house-hunting and have a Happy New Year!
