The New York Jets have signed linebacker D.J. Bryant and running back John Griffin to their practice squad. The announcements were made by general manager Mike Tannenbaum.
Bryant (6'3", 248) entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with Houston on May 14 and played in four preseason games before he was waived Aug. 31. He has spent time this season on the Tampa Bay and Indianapolis practice squads. He most recently was signed to the Colts practice squad Oct. 9 before being released Oct. 18. In four seasons at James Madison, Bryant recorded 118 tackles, including 27.5 for a loss and 12.5 sacks.
Griffin (5'11", 208) joined the NFL as an undrafted free agent with Cincinnati on July 28, 2011 but was waived by the Bengals after the preseason Sept. 3. He signed with the Jets as a reserve/future free agent Jan. 3 and was waived during training camp Aug. 8. As a senior at Massachusetts, Griffin rushed for 843 yards and five touchdowns on 168 carries.
