QB Ryan Fitzpatrick on how the preseason opener went for him and the first offense..."I wish we would've done a little bit more with that one. We tried to go a little up-tempo almost just to practice a two-minute situation in that second drive and got a couple of big plays out of Quincy [Enunwa] and we were able to get it in. There was some first preseason stuff that we kind of got out of the way, managed to avoid the presnap penalties and turnovers, and that was a plus for us."
Head coach Todd Bowles on if the two-minute tempo on the second series was planned..."It's just something we've been working on and we wanted to practice it on somebody else as opposed to ourselves. We were going to do that anyway."

Jets QB Bryce Petty on if he feels like he is in a quarterback competition..."Yeah, but I think that's depending on how you word it because I feel like, to me, I'm in a quarterback competition with myself every time I go out there.
