Marty Lyons, who has represented the Jets on and off the field for more than four decades, will move on from the radio booth after an acclaimed 22 years into an ambassador role for the organization, it was announced today. In his new role, the New York Sack Exchange Legend will maintain a focus on engaging Jets fans at events, assist the organization on business development opportunities, and maintain a prevalent role commentating on the team via the club's digital and broadcast programming. Selected in the first-round of New York's historic 2000 draft, former Jet Anthony Becht will assume the responsibility of color analyst for the organization's radio broadcast.

Prior to moving into this role, Lyons served as the analyst for the Jets radio broadcast since 2002. The Ring of Honor member said, "First, I want to thank the Good Lord for allowing me to live out my dream. 45 years with the Jets, and many more to come. I want to thank all the guys in the radio booth for a great 22 years. From our producer, Joe Loughran, to our crew on the field, Dave Shapiro, Richie Providence and my personal spotter Mike Altieri - GREAT job. I'd also like thank Bob Wischusen for being THE BEST partner in the broadcast booth. I couldn't have ever asked for a better partner. Bobby, you're the best. Thank you to the New York Jets fans for being supportive and loyal all these years. Not just to me, but also to the children from the Marty Lyons Foundation. Lastly, I want to thank the New York Jets organization. Especially, Woody and Chris Johnson. It will be a honor for me to serve the organization in this new role. To my friend Anthony Becht, I wish you the best of luck. You're in good hands. Have a great season."

"On behalf of the entire organization and the fan base, I want to thank Marty for his continued contribution to the Jets organization," said team president Hymie Elhai. "A true professional and respected member of our community, I am excited to further work with him in this new capacity while maintaining our ongoing support of the Marty Lyons Foundation as we have since 1982. I am also excited for Anthony. This opportunity enables him to expand his already strong connection with the Jets and our fans."

After an 11-year playing career in the NFL, Becht has stayed close to the game of football, working as a television analyst for both the college and pro games, as well as color analyst for Jets pre-season games on CBS2 and on the team's digital pre- and post-game shows. Becht joins a team comprised of long-time play-by-play announcer Bob Wischusen, the Voice of the New York Jets, along with pregame, halftime, and postgame hosts Dan Graca and Greg Buttle. Becht's first game will be August 24 vs, the New York Giants. Quincy Enunwa will be in the radio booth for the August 10 game vs the Washington Commanders and August 17 game at the Carolina Panthers.

Becht will continue as the head coach of the United Football League's St. Louis BattleHawks, whom he has coached the past two seasons.

Anthony Becht shared the following: "I am forever grateful to the New York Jets organization for again giving me an opportunity of a lifetime. Since the day I was drafted, this team has been an extraordinary part of my life, and I hope to convey gratefulness in the work I do in this new role. Having a chance to work with a first-class organization and a top-notch radio crew led by long-time radio professional Bob Wischusen is the perfect environment for me to hit the ground running and uphold the standard set by Marty Lyons these past 22 years."

"When we were first teamed together, I didn't really know Marty Lyons," said Bob Wischusen. "Over the last 22 years not only did Marty become an amazing broadcast partner, but even more importantly he's become one of my closest friends. I want to thank him for that friendship, for the laughter, for the support, for making me a better broadcaster and a better person. I'm also looking forward to working with Anthony Becht, who I've not only known since his playing days but have grown closer to in the years since. He's a long-time friend to the organization who has repeatedly shown a commitment to doing what is best for the New York Jets - and will only strengthen our ability to make this change a positive one that will benefit fans."

Earlier this year, the Jets announced a multifaceted radio and streaming partnership with iHeartRadio with all the club's games being broadcasted on Q104.3, New York's Classic Rock Station. In addition to broadcasting Jets pre-, in-, and post-game on Q104.3, fans can also hear all the action on both the iHeartRadio and Jets apps (local market only). The multiplatform partnership will utilize iHeartMedia's diverse array of New York City broadcast radio, streaming and digital platforms to promote the New York Jets brand and allows talent from both companies to appear as guests on shows.
