"The 49ers are good. They're going to make a lot of good teams look bad through the season. There's no reason to believe the Jets won't be good. But there are some things to work on. The defense in particular has to be disappointed it didn't rise to the challenge of stopping San Francisco."
USA Today - 12th
"A rocky debut rendered them the only winless team in the AFC East. But QB Aaron Rodgers survived the night, the schedule seems poised to ease up significantly and – who knows? – maybe LB Haason Reddick will even show up rather than continue to miss game checks. Panic would be premature."
CBS Sports - 13th
"Aaron Rodgers returns and the defense suddenly has issues. Who saw that coming? They couldn't stop the 49ers and the offense didn't do much."
NFL.com - 13th
"I forgot how much I missed watching Aaron Rodgers throw the football. It's been nearly two years of more drama than actual play, and after the sloppy start, that third drive was exactly how the Jets' offense can thrive this season. The moment Rodgers was back back, though, was when he got Leonard Floyd -- the guy whose tackle tore Rodgers' Achilles last year -- to jump offsides before hitting Allen Lazard for the freebie TD. There were a few vintage Rodgers moments on Monday, but the Jets' defense was a big disappointment. After the opening three-and-out, the Christian McCaffrey-less 49ers scored on the next eight possessions. Eight! The Jets had a great defense much of last season, but that included a few clunker performances. Gang Green has to hope that's what Monday was, against one of the league's better offenses (even without CMC)."

"It's a positive in the big picture that Aaron Rodgers was able to play a full game against a Super Bowl contender and make a few vintage plays in the process."
Bleacher Report - 14th
"Hall of Famer Warren Moon knows a thing or two about playing quarterback in the NFL. Per ESPN's Rich Cimini, Moon admitted that was curious to see what Aaron Rodgers had left in the tank as he made his second Jets debut (the first hardly counts) Monday night in San Francisco.
The good news is that this time Rodgers made it through the entire game. And as a whole, he was at least decent—13-of-21 for 167 yards with a score and an interception on a tipped pass. The bad news is that New York's allegedly stout defense was gashed by the 49ers on the ground and the final score looked a lot like most Jets scores have in recent years."
Pro Football Talk - 16th
"Last year's lone strength was last night's biggest weakness."
Sports Illustrated - 16th
"We will see how Aaron Rodgers continues to knock off the rust. His backfield mobility was surprisingly limited on Monday against the 49ers. I say surprising because Rodgers looked good at practices when I was able to see him and he seemed as spry as ever. Part of that is probably just rediscovering comfort after a long time spent rehabbing. The 49ers have worked just about every team in the NFL and I would never bet against Kyle Shanahan facing his former defensive coordinator. So, let's give it one more week before we freak out … right?"
The Athletics - 20th
"Let's focus on the positive: Aaron Rodgers made it through Week 1 perfectly healthy. He was a pedestrian 13-for-21 for 167 yards, one touchdown and one interception, but he'll make it to Week 2. His old friend Allen Lazard even had a Lazarus-like performance with six catches for 89 yards. The worrying thing is the defense that was supposed to provide a floor for this team gave up 401 yards to a 49ers team without Christian McCaffrey and barely anything from Brandon Aiyuk."
PFF - 20th
"Mistakes cost the Jets in big spots. Breece Hall fumbled early in the game, and while that only led to a Niners field goal, it was a possession wasted. A Rodgers interception was converted into a field goal in the third quarter, too. And on top of that, the Jets' receivers dropped two passes."
