The Jets will be without starting center Nick Mangold for the second straight game for today's AFC East showdown with the Miami Dolphins at Hard Rock Stadium.
Mangold (ankle) has been out since injuring his ankle in the home win over the Ravens. Wes Johnson stepped in and did well in last Sunday's triumph at Cleveland and will get the start again vs. the Dolphins.
Also sitting out are starting TE Kellen Davis (elbow), rookie inside LB Darron Lee (ankle), veteran ILB Bruce Carter (quad), and OL Brent Qvale (neck). Julian Stanford will again start at ILB alongside David Harris.
CB Buster Skrine has returned to action after missing the Cleveland game with a knee injury, as has TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins, who sat out the past three games with an ankle injury. Veteran RB C.J. Spiller, signed Wednesday, is also active.
The Jets' inactives vs. the Dolphins:
■ QB Christian Hackenberg
■ TE Kellen Davis
■ LB Darron Lee
■ LB Bruce Carter
■ C Nick Mangold
■ OL Brent Qvale
■ TE Eric Tomlinson
The Dolphins' inactive list:
■ CB Jordan Lucas
■ CB Xavien Howard
■ CB Bené Benwikere
■ DE Nick Williams
■ DE Terrence Fede
■ T Sam Young
■ TE Dion Sims
The Jets captains for today's 1 p.m. ET kickoff are WR Brandon Marshall, RB Bilal Powell, S Calvin Pryor and DL Leonard Williams.
The Jets are wearing their white jerseys and green pants today. It is believed this is the first time since the 1971 game that the Jets are wearing white jerseys for an afternoon start at Miami. The Dolphins traditionally have worn their white tops for day games vs. the Jets, who then had to wear their green tops, although for night games the 'Fins usually went to their aqua or coral jerseys and the Jets then wore white tops.
Walt Coleman is the referee. This is the long-time NFL official's 21st Jets game since 1995 as ref. Among the games Coleman has officiated were the 2000 "Monday Night Miracle" win over the Dolphins and his most recent Jets game, last year's victory over the Jaguars.
