Late Tuesday afternoon, the Jets announced the signing of CB Dimitri Patterson.
The 5'10", 200-pound Patterson has started 20 games in his career, registering nine interceptions, 35 passes defensed and 176 tackles. Originally an undrafted free agent signee with the Redskins in 2005, the Tuskegee product is joining his seventh NFL team.
Limited to six games with the Dolphins last season, Patterson started four on the outside and totaled four interceptions in addition to six passes defended. The Jets have changed their look at cornerback this offseason, releasing Antonio Cromartie before the start of free agency and then Isaiah Trufant joined the Browns. New York's AFC representative claimed former Chargers CB Johnny Patrick off of waivers and also added street free agent Jeremy Reeves last week.
