Practice Squad: Wallace Signed, Rinehart Cut

The New York Jets have signed center Cody Wallace to the practice squad and have released guard Chad Rinehart from the practice squad. The announcements were made by general manager Mike Tannenbaum.

Wallace (6'4", 300) was released from Detroit's practice squad on October 3 after joining the Lions' practice squad on Sept. 21. He was a 2008 fourth-round draft choice (107th overall) by San Francisco and played two games in two seasons with the 49ers, both in 2009. Wallace was a two-time All-Big 12 first-team performer at Texas A&M and was a finalist for the Rimington Trophy his senior season.

Rinehart (6'5", 310) was signed by the Jets on Sept. 29 after being waived by Washington on Sept. 4. He was selected by the Redskins in the third round (96th overall) of the 2008 NFL Draft and spent two seasons with them. Rinehart played all five of his career games last season and made one start before being placed on injured reserve on Nov. 24, 2009, with a fractured fibula.
