After the Jets employed a three-safety look against the Dolphins in Week 3, they unveiled a four-safety look against the Jaguars with the return of Rontez Miles.

"Coach Bowles has been doing a great job using us," rookie safety Marcus Maye said on Inside the Jets with Eric Allen and Bart Scott. "We have a lot of different guys in our room that can do a lot of different things. Coach has been putting different packages together, so he's been having fun with that. We enjoy it because we're all out there as a secondary. Seeing everybody playing well is good."

Miles, who suffered an orbital fracture in the second week of the preseason, made his regular-season debut for the Green & White and played eight snaps on defense in addition to 23 special teams snaps.

"Words can't even explain how excited I was," the third-year vet said. "It felt good. Those four weeks made me miss football and made me love football more than I thought I could."

Once Miles was medically cleared to play, he ran into the team's meeting room and said he was ready go. Maye also said it was great to see Miles flying around on Sunday, playing with passion and bringing energy to the defense and special teams.

Miles adds depth to an already talented safety unit. With rookie Jamal Adams, Maye and Terrence Brooks, the Week 3 AFC Defensive Player of the Week, Miles feels the group can be the best in the league.

"It allows us to cover more ground and play faster in more spaces," he said of having four safeties on the field at once. "Like on third-and-long, there's a lot of space. Teams try to single out linebackers and get their best players in space, but having a big package with defensive backs in it, we can cover guys that are more elusive in space."
