Hey, Jets fans! It's Flight Crew Cheerleader Sarah!
As my holiday break at home is coming to an end, I have been reflecting on the time I have spent here with my family and friends. I always cherish the time I get to spend at home, and wanted to share my recent experience with all of you.
On Christmas morning, I got on a plane to head back to my hometown in Ohio. I was born and raised in a small town called Crestline, and this is where most of my family and friends reside today.
Shortly after I arrived home, the rest of the family began to trickle in. The holiday household included my mother and stepfather, my three older sisters, my three brothers-in-law, my niece and four nephews, and my younger brother! We always celebrate Christmas in a very relaxed manner. We all gather in the living room to chat, open gifts, play with the kids, and eat a big dinner.
Spending time with my family is my favorite part of Christmas, because it is one of the few times each year that the entire family is together in one place! It has also become a tradition that we take a "lineup" photo. We always take one photo with my mom and all of her kids, and another with just the siblings. The photo is usually taken towards the end of the night, and everyone packs their gifts and food to head home.
This year while I visiting home, I also had a small reunion with some of my girlfriends. I have known all of these girls since I was 3 years old, when we attended St. Joseph's pre-school together! We all grew up together and remained close friends throughout high school. While we have always kept in touch, each of us took off in separate directions after graduation. This reunion was the first time we were all together in seven years!
We all met at Rachel's father's house and decided on a Mexican dinner for the night. We had an absolute blast while we were out! We were able to catch up on so many things that we have been through over these past few years and reminisce over the many memories we share together. Our night was filled with so much laughter and a lot of pictures!! I am so thankful to have such wonderful friends like these girls. It is inspiring to know such amazing people, who have grown into teachers, mothers and nurses.
I hope all of you had a wonderful holiday season, filled with family and friends as well! Looking forward to another great year and another great football season in 2012!!
Happy New Year!
