The New York Jets have signed running back Chris Ivory to a three-year extension, have signed free agent guard Stephen Peterman, and have agreed to terms with 15 undrafted free agents.
Ivory (6'0", 222 / Tiffin / Longview, TX) was acquired by the Jets in a trade with New Orleans on Friday. He entered the NFL with the Saints as an undrafted free agent. In three seasons, he has played in 24 games and has carried 256 times for 1,307 yards (5.1 avg.) with eight touchdowns. In 2012 Ivory appeared in six games with two starts and rushed 40 times for 217 yards (5.4 avg.) and two touchdowns.
Peterman (6'4", 323 / Louisiana State / Waveland, MS) joined the NFL as a third-round selection by Dallas in the 2004 draft. Entering his ninth year, he played the last seven seasons with Detroit and has appeared in 90 career games with 86 starts. In 2012 he started all 16 contests and helped to protect QB Matt Stafford, who finished second in the NFL with 4,967 passing yards.
