The New York Jets have signed tackle Austin Howard from Baltimore's practice squad. The announcement was made by general manager Mike Tannenbaum.
Howard (6'7", 333) was signed to the Ravens' practice squad Sept. 6 after being waived by Philadelphia three days earlier. He spent the 2010 season with the Eagles, playing in four games (one start) after being signed as an undrafted free agent April 26, 2010. At Northern Iowa, Howard twice earned All-Missouri Valley Conference second-team honors and was named to the 2009 Football Coaches Association's FCS All-America Team.
