RB THOMAS JONES
On what the offense needs to do to become more consistent…
A lot of the situations that we've been in, we've hurt ourselves with turnovers, penalties and taking ourselves out of good situations. A lot of our problems have been just us. If we can eliminate some of those mistakes, I think we'll be in good shape.
On the chemistry between the running backs and offensive line…
As an offense you have to be able to run the ball and throw the ball. We try and make sure we have our timing down in practice. We want to make sure we know what we're doing. We've had time to play together so I think we are playing with good chemistry on both ends, as far as the offensive line, running backs, receivers and quarterbacks. Our problem has been ourselves in a lot of situations.
On if he has felt good the last couple of weeks…
I've felt good the whole season. I take care of myself. I work out hard, train hard during the season. I take advantage of the opportunities that I have.
On running the ball well the last two weeks…
You never know how the game is going to go. At the end of the day you're trying to win the game whether it's throwing the ball or running the ball. If we're throwing the ball well and that's helping us, then we'll throw the ball. If we're running the ball well, then we'll run the ball. Every game is unpredictable. You're not sure what you're going to be able to do well until you get in the game and see how the game is going.

On his 52-yard field goal to send the Oakland game into OT...
It would have been a lot bigger if we won the game, but it was good for me. It was the first real pressure kick on this team. Not having been around throughout the off-season and not being able to earn that respect, the only way I can do that is by making field goals and kicking the ball well.
On Raiders coach Tom Cable calling the timeout before his first try…
I knew before I even started the kick that he had called a timeout. I think it's a big advantage for the kicker because then I can hit it down the middle, change my mindset and try and stay at 80 percent. You always want to be at 80 percent as far back as you can go and not have to exert anymore because that is the percentage that you are most accurate at. I can stay at 80 percent, hit it down the middle and see what the wind did to it and adjust.
The next one I aimed a little further right and hit it the same way. I think that's a big advantage for kickers. I think it's a misnomer that that's going to hurt a kicker.
On what the reaction was to his kick…
It was muted because we let a game slip away that we should have won. It was a big game, the difference between 4-2 and 3-3, substantial, and then New England goes and wins their game. I think everyone was happy, obviously, that I made the kick. It proved a little bit to them, but for me it's been going in every day trying to help this team win, however that is.
