The New York Jets have signed wide receiver Royce Adams and punter Travis Baltz to reserve/future contracts. The announcements were made by general manager Mike Tannenbaum.
Adams (6'0", 190) played the 2011 season with the AFL's Pittsburgh Power. He converted from cornerback to wide receiver prior to his senior season at Purdue in 2009. Adams played in 46 games for the Boilermakers and also spent time at both kickoff and punt returner.
Baltz (6'3", 210) was waived by Indianapolis on Sept. 4, 2011, after being signed by the Colts as an undrafted free agent on July 29. He played four years at Maryland, where he punted 224 times for an average of 41.2 yards and earned all-conference honors in 2008.
