The Jets have signed wide receiver Josh Bellamy.
Bellamy spent the last five years with the Bears after one year with the Chiefs and another with the Redskins. Predominantly a special teamer, the 6'0", 208-pounder didn't register a reception until his fourth season in the NFL. From 2015-18, the Louisville product tallied 76 catches for 999 yards and five scores.
The five-year veteran had a career year in 2017 with 376 yards and 24 catches. In 2016, he won the Brian Piccolo Award, an award given to one rookie and one veteran who best exemplifies courage, loyalty, teamwork, dedication and sense of humor.
According to Pro Football Reference, Bellamy played in 58% of special teams snaps in 2018, 24% in '17, 64% in '16 and 52% in '15. He also has a career six kickoff returns for 128 yards (21.3 avg), 20 special teams tackles and one fumble recovery off a muffed punt.
