10 Things to Expect: Jets vs. Steelers

Harvin made an impact in his second game with the Jets, gaining 225 all-purpose yards, which is the most since RB Thomas Jones posted 227 against Buffalo in '09. Harvin caught 11 passes for 129 yards, had two kickoff returns for 88 yards and had one rush for 8 yards. Harvin said he's grown more comfortable with the offense each week he's been here: "Just having been here two weeks, I wasn't thinking a whole lot. I was just out there cutting loose. I do like to play that way, just going out there on the field and cutting loose, not worrying about assignments, where I'm lining up. It all came to me pretty good."

All the cornerbacks battled for the starting jobs this week, and head coach Rex Ryan said Friday that Phillip Adams, who has the team's only interception, will be one starter. The second will be either Josh Thomas or Marcus Williams, who started last week against the Chiefs. Expect all corners to see playing time this week.

For the first time in his professional career, Amaro finished a game with no catches and no targets, although he did field his first professional kickoff return after the Chiefs kicked away from Harvin. The Chiefs kept the rookie in check, but Amaro feels he'll get back into the action against the Steelers: "I plan on making up for it this week."

An eight-game losing streak is nothing to Babin, who once lost 20 straight games, spanning two seasons and two different teams. For the Jets, Babin said the rest of the season will test every man's character: "I think for us, it's really an opportunity to test yourself as a man. Things are difficult. Life's difficult. This experience and time we have in the NFL is short-lived. So I think it's a good opportunity to take that situation and to grow as men. This isn't what we're going to do forever. We're all going to have to have jobs eventually. How you answer each and every day from here on out, I think, is going to speak volumes for your character."

This game has a definite meaning for Colon, who played with the Steelers from 2006-2012, winning a Super Bowl in the 2008 season as Pittsburgh's RT. Look for Colon to have a big game against his former team.

After a rough outing against the Chiefs (eight rushes for 22 yards) look for Ivory to have a bounce-back game against a Steelers defense allowing 4.4 yards/carry.

Pace, who is second on the team with 4 sacks, said this week that the team is continuing to work hard, despite a 1-8 record. Look for Pace, being a big veteran presence on a team, to have a big game this week: "It's New York City, man. It's a pressure-filled city. If you let it get to you, it can affect you. Just go out and play and do what you can do. That's where we're at right now."

Richardson missed practice on Wednesday with an illness, but returned to practice on Thursday and Friday and is listed as probable for the game on Sunday. Against the Steelers last season, Richardson had six tackles, one tackle for loss and a forced fumble.

Vick had a respectable game against the Chiefs in his first start in over one year. He was 21-for-28 with 196 yards passing and one touchdown and zero turnovers. Vick left for a few plays near the end of the game after his head bounced off the turf. He passed the concussion protocol and is ready for his first start at MetLife Stadium.

Wilkerson leads the team with 4.5 sacks and is looking to add more to that total against the Pittsburgh Steelers. That's no easy task as Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger is one of the game's best escape artists. Wilkerson said he remembers missing 'several' sacks of Roethlisberger in a 19-6 loss last season: "You gotta make sure when you know you're getting up close to [Roethlisberger] that you wrap him up. And we know that he has poor ball security as well, so get after the ball when we get close to him."
