The Jets Have 18 players Who Took the Field for the Team in the 2014 Season and Who Could Become Free Agents When the NFL's Unrestricted Free Agency Signing Period Begins March 10
Ijalana has been staying patient since coming over to the Jets from the Colts via waivers at the start of the 2013 season. He saw his first game action as a Jet in three games last year, against the Chiefs, Vikings and Titans.
Powell, the Jets' fourth-round choice in the 2011 draft, has contributed in many ways in his four seasons in green and white. In 2013 he led the team in scrimmage yards (969) and last year he contributed 141 yards on 33 rushes to our third-ranked NFL rushing attack
Johnson signed as a free agent with the Jets after six seasons as the Titans' featured back, including his 2,000-yard rushing season in 2009. Last year he ran for 663 yards on 155 carries for our No. 3-ranked rushing offense and added 151 yards on 24 receptions.
"Snacks," the former William Penn free agent, has come on strong the past two seasons with 32 starts. In '13 he had 80 tackles and unofficially tied David Harris with a team-high 17.5 tackles for loss/no gain. This past season he had 68 tackles in the middle of the Jets' fifth-ranked NFL rush defense.
"The Hitman" has had a major impact since coming aboard as the Round 2 pick in 2007. In 2014 Harris had a career-high 150 tackles — his sixth team-leading 100-tackles season — and became the fourth player in franchise history to clear 1,000 career tackles early in Game 15 against the Patriots.
Landry, the five-year Raven and two-year Jaguar, signed on as a veteran free agent in 2013 and immediately began a stretch of 32 straight games played and 30 starts as the playcaller in the deep middle of the defense.
Salas has been a chunk-play contributor since joining the Jets midway through the 2013 season. In his 18 games, he's produced eight plays of 20+ yards,. second in that span only to Chris Ivory's 10. His last big play was his 20-yard TD scamper vs. Miami before he headed to IR with a hamstring injury.
Jarrett, the former Eagles second-round pick, has spent the past two seasons as a Jets safety and special-teamer. The top game of his four-year career came when he started vs. the Steelers and had two interceptions and a fumble recovery — the first Jets three-takeaway game in eight seasons.
The former Patriots second-round selection signed with the Jets as a free agent in the second half of the 2013 season. He's played in two games for the Green & White, both in '13, before spending all this past season on injured reserve.
"The Terminator," the Jets' fifth-round draft choice in 2010, returned to the Green & White after Tommy Bohanon's season-ending injury. Conner contributed in 12 games (three starts) and scored his first TD in three seasons on a 9-yard reception in the win at Tennessee.
Ellis arrived as the Jets' third-round choice in the 2011 draft. He's been a steady role player the past three seasons and for his career has played in 47 games (five starts). This past season he notched his first pro sack, taking down the Dolphins' Ryan Tannehill in Game 12 on Monday Night Football.
Wilson, the Jets' first-round selection (29th overall) in the 2010 draft, played in all 16 games for the fifth straight season. He's appeared in 83 games total including playoffs (28 starts) with 3 interceptions. Last year he got his first pro sack, taking down Buffalo's Kyle Orton in Game 8.
Douzable has been a consistent contributor on the D-line for the past two years. He's played in all 32 games in green and white, came up with a key fumble recovery at Atlanta in 2013, and this past season compiled 2.5 sacks, most in a season in his six-season NFL career.
Vick, the greatest running QB in NFL history, came to the Jets from the Eagles a year ago. He made three midseason starts, going 1-2 with the highlight a drought-stopping 20-13 home conquest of the playoff-bound Steelers in November.
Bellore signed as an undrafted free agent in 2011 and has been indispensable the past four seasons, even though he's had no starts and gotten limited reps on defense. He's played in all 64 games as a special teams leader and has a team-leading 90 kick-coverage tackles in that span.
Adams came to the Jets from the Seahawks as a free agent last Sept. 1 and helped out in the injury-ravaged secondary. He had our first interception of the season off of Philip Rivers in Game 5 at San Diego and had 23 total tackles in 12 games (four starts).
Purdum has been the Jets' long-snapper the past six seasons. In that span he's put 781 snaps on the money, including 141 last year into the hands of punter/holder Ryan Quigley, without a single errant snap.
Colon, Bronx born and raised, returned to the New York area from the Steelers after the 2012 season and has been a fixture at RG on the Jets line, starting all 32 games and finishing without a season-ending injury for the first time in five years. For his career he's played in 95 games (94 starts).
