- The Aviators Jets drum line brought to you by Gallant Entertainment entertained fans as they filed into MetLife Stadium for the Jets preseason opener.
At 5:30 p.m. between the Pepsi and MetLife Gates, the Jets and Up2Us hosted their second annual "Bikes for Kids" event benefiting underserved youth. Fifty children from six to 17, identified by Up2Us and Foundation for Life, received new bikes and helmets from Barnum Financial Group, an office of MetLife.
"Bikes for Kids," which is part of the Jets Play 60 platform, gives a great way for these 50 kids to battle childhood obesity with 60 minutes of activity each day.
Thursday's game was the first chance for season ticket holders to take advantage of Jets Rewards. Part of the new initiative is a "tap and go" process at scanners at all stadium entrances. Points can be accumulated by simple things such as attending home games, watching or listening to away games on television or the radio.
At MetLife Field, located outside the stadium, there are fun activities in which you could take part, including an obstacle course and, for this fan, a chance to kick a field goal.
It was Kids Night at Thursday's game and what better way to get kids involved than all the events at Jets Fest? In addition to all the different stations at Jets Fest, children were able to meet with the Jets Juggler.
For those kids who want to show their pride in the Green & White, there was a face painting station at Jets Fest between the Verizon and SAP Gates.
Young Jets fans tried their hardest in an inflatable obstacle course at Jets Fest.
There's more than just a football game when the Jets play at MetLife Stadium. There's fun for men, women and children of all ages.
These Jets season ticket holders held up their Jets Rewards cards as they were excited for their first opportunity to rack up some points that they can later exchange for Jets merchandise. In addition to attending games, points can be earned by being loud and forcing the opposing offense into a false start.
The new Jets inflatable tunnel for player introductions made its debut at SUNY Cortland during the Green & White practice, but it was used for the first time at MetLife Stadium on Thursday. After the Jets entered through the tunnel, they were greeted by members of the GenJets Kids Club.
In addition to the new tunnel, new pyrotechnics were used for the first time as the players were introduced.
In keeping with the Kids Night theme, the GenJets Kids Club member of the Game was named as an Honorary Captain and was present during the coin toss against the Colts.
While helping the Jets with the coin toss (which the team won) the honorary captain also served as the tee kid. After Nick Folk's opening kickoff he ran onto the field to retrieve the tee.
The Aviators do more than entertain at the entrance to MetLife Stadium. They performed during timeouts throughout the course of the evening.
During halftime, lucky children had the opportunity to get their Nick Folk on during a field goal competition.
Maybe not as stressful as rookie K Andrew Furney's 51-yard, game-winning field goal, the children received a glimpse into the life of a kicker as all eyes were on them.
The Launch Crew, presented by Seasonal World, made their MetLife Stadium debut and launched tee shirts into the crowd during select television timeouts.
Free tee shirts sent into the crowd by the Launch Crew were in demand as they had fans waving and screaming for a chance at one.
As RB Chris Johnson made his way off the field through the Coaches Club, he made sure to send some fans home with autographs.
