Biography
RAY AGNEW III, now in his eighth season with the Jets, enters his sixth year as a pro scout, after initially starting as a seasonal assistant in the player personnel department. In his role, he assists in the day-to-day logistics of the pro personnel department, monitoring league transactions, evaluating players during final cuts and free agency, while also assisting in the weekly advance report for the coaching staff.
Agnew was part of a scouting staff who drafted both the Offensive and Defensive Rookies of the Year in 2022, marking just the third time in NFL history a team has had both in the same year.
Before the Jets, Agnew worked at the Elite Football Academy in St. Louis, helping prepare and train high school football players for potential college football careers.
After entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent fullback, Agnew saw action in 12 games (nine starts) with Cleveland (2014), before spending time with Dallas in the offseason and the Washington practice squad the following year. He played 36 games for Southern Illinois (2009-13), graduating with a degree in business management.
A native of St. Louis, MO, Agnew and his wife now reside in New Jersey with their daughter, Noah Sinclair.
