The Jets have released Thomas Morstead.

Morstead (6-4, 235) signed with the Jets on Sept. 14. He had 23 kicks for 1,108 yards (48.2 avg) with a long of 59 yards in seven games with the Jets. Morstead, a fifth-round pick of the Saints in 2009, spent 12 seasons in New Orleans and has a 46.6-yard punting average in 197 games.
