Last month a few Flight Crew Cheerleaders traded our signature white boots for cowboy boots. In honor of Jessika's birthday, we channeled our inner cowgirl and learned how to line dance!
We had a fantastic and very patient teacher named Holly who helped us learn the basics of line dancing, including the most common dance called the "Boot Scootin' Boogie." The idea is you learn a combination, then do it facing each side of the room several times through. It took us a few minutes to get the hang of it, but once we did we peppered in our Flight Crew style and added plenty of hair flips.
Then it was time to learn a couple's dance called "Laces," which meant dancing in a giant moving circle with other couples while turning yourself, crossing in front and behind all while trying not to step on your partner's toes — it was dizzying but it was a lot of fun.
By the end of the night we were exhausted — who knew line dancing was such a workout? In fact, an hour of country line dancing can burn up to 350 calories, and you get to do it in an adorable plaid outfit. It's a win/win!
Cheers,
Donna Marie
