Fan Advisory Board events are what they sound like — a chance for a team such as the Jets to gather a small group of fans together, get advice from them, and let them know their voices matter.
From the sounds of a few voices, our most recent FAB event held in the NFL's Manhattan offices on April 30 achieved those objectives.
"As a long-time Jets fans," Stacey Rudbart wrote the next morning, "it was both an honor and a pleasure to be a part of last night's focus group. It is heartwarming to know that even though the franchise is so large, you really do care about your season ticket holders. I hope our comments were useful."
Attendee Mike Borg added, "Thank you and the rest of the team for the hospitality. I totally enjoyed the meeting."
"Hosting our fourth Fan Advisory Board at the NFL Offices was a great opportunity for our season ticket holders to get an inside look at the league headquarters," Jets team president Neil Glat said. "We take every opportunity to listen to our fans, and FAB is one of several avenues that allows us to receive feedback and make actionable changes."
Specifically, FAB events provide the opportunity for a cross-section of some 30 season ticket holders to gather informally with team executives and business staff to discuss the organization's current priorities.
Wednesday's event looked back at gameday giveaways such as rally towels and flags and a variety of STH gift options for the 2014 season ahead. Also discussed were the different types of mail and email communications sent out over the past year, including invitations to non-gameday events, gameday experiences, etc.
This year's event concluded with a tour of the league headquarters. "The NFL offices were amazing," Borg told us. "The Holy Grail of fan-dom!"
This was our fourth Fan Advisory Board event. The first was held in December 2012 and its other venues were the Commissioner's Club and the Green Room at MetLife Stadium and the team headquarters, the Atlantic Health Jets Training Center.
