The Jets continued the revamping of their secondary with the signing of unrestricted free agent Andre Cisco, the former Jacksonville safety, following the signing of UFA CB Brandon Stephens.

Cisco (6-0, 203) was the Jaguars' third-round selection (65th overall) in the 2021 NFL Draft. He played his first four seasons with the Jaguars, making his first pro start in a 26-21 loss at the Jets in '21 and taking over as a full-time starter in '22 with 34 starts the past three seasons. For his career, he has 229 total tackles, 8 interceptions — returning a Jalen Hurts theft 59 yards for a touchdown at Philadelphia in '22 — and 24 passes defensed.

Cisco has strong New York ties, having been born in Queens and spending his first two high school seasons at St. Anthony's in South Huntington on Long Island, before playing his final two seasons of scholastic football at IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL. He then played three seasons at Syracuse University.

The Jets had need in the deep middle with Chuck Clark, Ashtyn Davis and Jalen Mills, who combined for 16 of the Jets' safety starts last season, all becoming UFAs. The team tendered restricted free agent S Tony Adams (27 starts for the Jets from 2022-24) on Monday.
