Marko Cavka returns
The New York Jets have signed kicker Justin Ayat and tackle Marko Cavka . The announcement was made by Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum.
Ayat (5'11", 205), a 2004 graduate of the University of Hawaii, was successful on 191 of 209 extra point attempts and converted 59 of 89 field goal attempts, including a career-long 56-yarder, in his college career.
Cavka (6'7", 294), was selected by the Jets in the sixth round (178th overall) of the 2004 NFL Draft. He rejoins the Jets after spending 2006 with the Amsterdam Admirals in NFL Europa.
In 2004 Cavka was inactive for all 16 games as well as both postseason contests. Prior to being drafted by the Jets, he started 42 consecutive games for Sacramento State.
