The New York Jets have waived defensive back James Ihedigbo. The announcement was made by Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum.
Ihedigbo (6'1", 202) signed with the Jets as an undrafted rookie free agent on May 15. He was a three-year starter at the University of Massachusetts and served as a team as a senior. He finished his collegiate career with 251 tackles (165 solo), 12.5 sacks, eight interceptions and 19 passes defensed.
He was named a Walter Camp All-American and a College Sporting News All-Star and earned Atlantic-10 first-team recognition following his senior season.
